Carnage at Antietam

File:Robert Edward Lee.jpgFile:George B McClellan - retouched.jpg

It was the scene of the bloodiest single day in American history, and the battle was Gen. Lee's first major offensive in Northern territory. It also happened 150 years ago from last Monday, Sept. 17th. Here's a pair of eyewitness accounts from that fateful day.

Civil War 150

Of course 2010 was the 150th anniversary of the bloodiest war in US history, but there are still plenty of reasons to be interested. Here's a great infograph about many different parts of the war.

People of the Civil War

As we inch closer to the beginning of our unit on the "War between the States" I've found a great resource for gaining a little perspective on some of the most famous Americans during the Civil War era. Feel free to poke around.

11 years later

I remember exactly where I was when the US and the world stood still on September 11, 2001. I hope that we never have anything close to that again. Yet, I'm proud of how America has rebounded and responded.

Here's a link to a newscast from THAT day which lives in infamy.
